MooLàLà is an artisan vegan ch**se producer based in Birmingham, UK, run by the two of us from our home. We make small-batch, plant-based ch**se with attitude, a French twist, and absolutely no cruelty.
MooLàLà started as a hobby. We’d been making vegan cheese at home, experimenting with fermentation, flavour, and texture just for a bit of fun.
But everything changed one Christmas…
Our Story

One Christmas, Conor’s French family came to stay with us in the UK. They are all vegan, and cheese is taken very seriously. I served them some of my homemade vegan cheese, not expecting much more than polite approval.
Conor’s brother took a bite and instinctively went, Oh là là.
Just the very French sound people make when something takes them by surprise.
Everyone agreed the cheese was good. Really good.
The following Easter, we brought more cheese over to France. That’s when Conor’s family said something that stuck: You should really think about selling this. It wasn’t something I’d ever considered before, but that moment planted the seed.
MooLàLà was born from that original noise of surprise and delight.

The name MooLàLà is playful on the surface, but intentional underneath.
It nods to French food culture and the sound that started everything, while quietly poking at the dairy industry’s obsession with cows as commodities. Our tagline, Fromage Sans Cruauté, means cheese without cruelty.

Our logo shows a cow with a chain broken in the middle.
The broken chain represents liberation from exploitation. On the cow’s ID tag is the number 1825 – the number of days an average dairy cow lives. Just five years. Roughly a quarter of their natural lifespan.

For us, cheese without cruelty means more than just being plant-based.
It means:
No animal agriculture
No pretending dairy doesn’t cause harm
No greenwashing
No compromise on flavour or craft
We make cultured vegan cheese using time, fermentation, and technique, rather than shortcuts. The goal is food that stands on its own, not food that apologises for what it isn’t.

MooLàLà is punk because punk questions power.
We’re openly anti-fascist, and we believe veganism and punk go hand in hand. Both challenge systems built on exploitation, hierarchy, and control. Both reject the idea that tradition is a good enough excuse to keep doing harm.
Our branding is bold because our values are. We don’t believe vegan food needs to be quiet, polite, or beige to be taken seriously.

We’re a tiny operation with big opinions, making artisan vegan cheese from our home in Birmingham. Everything we produce is 100% plant-based, made in small batches, and rooted in care, ethics, and a bit of defiance.
MooLàLà exists to prove that vegan cheese can be delicious, political, and joyful all at once.
